Colleen had her very 1st soccer game on Saturday and she had a GREAT time!
Colleen started the game, along with three of her teammates. She loved running around, but still isn't quite sure what to do when she gets to the ball. (I think her Aunts are going to have to help out with that one!)
When Colleen wasn't on the field, she loved sitting on the sidelines, pouring water on her legs to cool them down and cheer for her team. GO STEAMERS!

Kellen did great during the game. I brought a portable DVD player so he watched that and ate snacks while Colleen played. Kellen did get into the cheers at the end of the game.

They both LOVED snack time when the game was over.

Our visit to the Firehouse!

Ryan is the very nice firefighter who gave us our tour. He was extremely nice, even when the kids didn't warm up to him at first.
In the beginning, Colleen was very shy...but you can see her come out of her shell towards the end of our visit
Look, she can almost touch the pedals
"I can drive this, no problem"
Colleen LOVED driving the trucks
Kellen's future profession?
"What happens if I turn this key?"
"I want that one for Christmas"
"I locked the keys in the truck"
"I don't need help getting up on this truck"

If you ask Colleen what she wants to be when she grows up...9 times out of 10 she will say "Fireman"

Colleen LOVES everything to do with firemen and is always asking to watch her favorite show "Fireman Sam" on PBS Sprout.

So, I asked Mr. Bill if he could arrange for a tour of the local fire station. He called up a friend who works at the Ellicott City station and got us a tour today.

The kids had a great time and Colleen loved learning about the trucks...and both kids LOVED driving the trucks.

It was a really great time - Thank you Mr. Bill!

Rainy Weather Fun

Kellen and Colleen watching movies in bed
So cute!
Watching TV Sunday morning in a tent Daddy built.

Saturday was a very interesting day.
First thing in the morning, the kids had gymnastics. Colleen loved going back to gymnastics since she hasn't been in about 5 months. Kellen loved going because it was his 1st class! The worst part about the whole thing was the tropical storm winds and rain that we were getting. It didn't make it fun to go out.
After we got back, we had movie day and the kids piled into our bed to watch movies. They had a great time and I loved it too because I could take a nap!
We ended up the day going out with Sabina and Jeff to Greystone Grill. It was so yummy and tons of fun! We can't wait to go out again.......Oct 4th baby!

Colleen the Movie Star

Colleen was home sick last Thursday, so after she was feeling better, she wanted to play "movie star"

She got dressed up in her pretty dress, got a ring, bracelet, necklace, hat and matching purse. Oh and you can't forget the sunglasses.

She was really loving it. I couldn't resist taking pictures, so they are attached.

Oh and the sickness. Colleen had a fever Wednesday night. Jeff and I didn't know she was sick. She was at her 1st T-Ball practice and she was sluggish, not listen, etc.....so we just thought she wasn't listening because Jeff is the coach. We felt horrible when we got her home and found out she had a fever! Bad, bad parents we are!

Silly girls!

I can't believe how fast the summer has gone by. It feels like Memorial Day was only a few weeks ago.....it is not fair! Labor Day can't already be here!
Today we took the kids to the Labor Day picnic at our pool (Watermont Swim Club).
The pool had tons of activities all day today!
  • Moon bounce for the kids
  • Catered lunch for everyone from Famous Dave's
  • Goldfish catch for big kids - yes they put the goldfish right into the pool! Gross!
  • Belly flop contest
  • Watermelon relay race
  • Splash contest
  • Adult Beverage catch for the grown ups - yes they threw beer cans into the diving well for all the grown ups to dive for!

We all had a fantastic time. Our friends the Connell's came up too, so Colleen was excited to play with her friend Natalie for a while.
