As a special treat for the kids, I went out and got them special Halloween donuts from Krispy Kreme this morning. You can see from the pictures...they really LOVED them!

Jeff's great carvings

The other night we carved our pumpkins......well, I should say - Jeff carved our pumpkins and did a fantastic job!

The kids were funny. Jeff cut the tops off and let the kids pull out the pumpkins seeds. Colleen dug right in, sticking her hands in and pulling out the seeds and stuff. Kellen refused to do it, so I eventually forced his hand in - just so he could feel it!

Colleen's school has been having Community Helpers coming in all month long to talk to the kids about their jobs and how they help people. She has already had a visit from a police officer, dentist, doctor, etc. The school was having a hard time getting a firefighter to visit the school.....so when they heard Colleen talking about her friend Mr. Bill the fireman - the asked me if I could help out.
Of course, I called in a favor to Mr. Bill and he was able to help out. On Wednesday, Mr. Bill, Firefighter Ryan and Firefighter Chip came to speak at Colleen's school.
We kept it a secret from Colleen, so she was VERY surprised to see me....and them show up!

Last week we decided to take the kids out back to take some Fall pictures. They did a great job and we got some really nice shots.

Of course, I had to bribe with M&M's to get some nice smiles.....but I think it worked out OK.

Today, Colleen and her class, went to Larriland Farm to visit the pumpkin patch. I went along too and it was so much fun......FREEZING....but fun!

Colleen was super excited, especially when she found out that the other child paired up with us was her best pal, Natalie. The girls picked out some really great pumpkins and I even let them each have a special "honeysuckle" treat for being so good.

But don't worry.....Kellen also got a pumpkin. The school set up a little pumpkin patch outside for the little kids. Kellen was able to pick his out and decorate it.

One other Colleen funny. We told her about the election, who the current president was and who the two men who were running. She said "Mommy, I want John McCain to win" I asked her why. Colleen responded "Because his name is easier for me to say!" Too funny!
