Getting Ready for Church

Colleen aka "Little Red Riding Hood"

Kellen aka "Big Bad Wolf" stealing the picnic basket

This Sunday the kids had a really great time getting ready for church.

I let Colleen pick out her own dress to wear.....and yes, it was probably a little too cold to be wearing it.....but I let her anyhow. The deal was that she had to wear a shaw over it. She had to correct me and tell me it wasn't a shaw, but a cape like Little Red Riding Hood wears.

So the rest of the morning she spent her time acting like Little Red Riding Hood.

After church we went to the mall with Aunt Ti Ti and Emily. The girls had such a great time! I really wish I had my camera to take a picture of them holding hands, running around the mall...giggling! It was so funny. Aunt Ti Ti even took them on the merry-go-round - which was a big treat!

Fun Filled Saturday

Colleen humoring me for a nice picture

Me trying to get a nice shot of Kellen....until I realized that he needs a hair cut!

"Is anyone going to help me?"

Colleen hanging around

"Bye Bye!"

We had a fun packed Saturday....between gymnastics, playing out back and going to the playground....the kids had a wonderful time.

Here are a few pictures from our fun Saturday. I love the ones of Kellen "mowing" the lawn with his bubble mower he got from Aunt La La.

Colleen had the most fun at the playground - she loves to climb and hang.

Colleen went to cousin Kiely's birthday party on Saturday. Colleen had a great time at the gymnastics party and really enjoyed seeing her cousins.

Here are a few pictures from the fun times.

Colleen also got a special surprise when Uncle Tony showed up at the end of the event!

Backyard Fun

Notice the flower in her hand....

Kellen practicing his throw-ins

Since it was so nice last week, we took the kids outside a lot!

Here are some pictures from the backyard, where Colleen wanted me to teach her how to play soccer.
She seemed interested at first - but then got distracted by picking dandelions.

Kellen's Favorite Chair

Kellen's new favorite chair is Colleen's rocking chair in her room.

Anytime her door is open, he will run in and go right for the chair and start rocking.

So cute!

Birds and the Bees

Can you believe that I have already had my first conversation with Colleen about the "birds and the bees"?

It all started the other day when I noticed that Colleen wasn't wiping as well as she needed to be. I was explaining to her the correct way to wipe.

Colleen then asked me "Mommy, why do boys have a pee pee thing that sticks out?"

I tried my best not to laugh, but it was so funny the way it came out.

Then I did my best to explain that boys have a penis and girls have a vagina. She seemed to understand. But I know more questions will be coming as she gets older!

Kellen's Favorite PJs

Kellen has found a new favorite set of PJ's. He loves to put them on every night and instantly starts pointing to all the items on them.

Firehouse PJ's (Mr. Bill would be so proud)

I think his favorite thing is the dog on them. For not having a dog, Kellen really loves them and gets so excited whenever we see one while walking in the neighborhood.

Princess Play Date

Natalie and Colleen after getting their make-up

Colleen invite her best pal, Natalie, over for a play date last weekend.

The girls had been begging to play together and have a princess make-up party. Then even discussed having a sleepover and I didn't even know that Colleen knew what that was!

So here are some pictures of the princess play date.

Of course, they both dressed up as Cinderella. We had a real tea party with tea and cookies. We had a ball where they both danced with the prince (Jeff) and we even had a count down to 12 so they could pretend they had to run out of the ball before the magic wore off.

They really had a great time.

Finally! A Nice Day!

Kellen is ready to go!

Colleen hugging Kellen before the wagon ride

Kellen likes orange....as you can tell!

The weather has been so dreary lately......it has been so depressing.

But today the dreariness ended, the clouds parted, the sun came out and the weather was beautiful!

After having a wonderful dinner prepared by Chef Daddy, we decided to take the kids on a walk around the block. It was so nice outside and it was great to see all the rest of the neighborhood out and about.

Let's just hope we have more days like today. I am ready for Spring!

Colleen's Final Birthday Celebration

Colleen finally had her last birthday celebration over the weekend. We were supposed to have celebrated with Jeff's parents last weekend, but they were sick, so we had to reschedule it to this weekend.

Colleen was very excited to be getting a visit from Grammy and Pop and going out to Outback. (Another one of her favorite restaurants) Unfortunately, Pop got sick and couldn't be there. But we all had a nice time at the restaurant and Colleen even got a special "birthday sundae"

Above are some pictures of her opening her presents from Grammy. She LOVES the dresses - of course!

Hide and Seek!

"Can you see me?"

Kellen loves to play hide and seek and we have captured him hiding in his favorite spot!

Usually he tries to hide in the cabinets, but with all the pots and pans, he realizes that he doesn't fit........so he had to find another place.

You can see where his favorite spot is now!

Barbie Mariposa

Colleen dressed up as Barbie Mariposa

For Colleen's birthday, we let her pick any movie to watch for a special night. Colleen selected Barbie Mariposa and ever since then, she has been pretending to be a butterfly fairy - just like Mariposa!

Colleen has me put her hair up in "wings" and loves to dress up in her Barbie Mariposa costume. One night she even slept in the outfit!
